Default Will "93 Wheels fit a 2000 LS400?

I have a chance to pick up some 1993 OEM LS400 rims, which I will dedicate
to my snow tires.
I've read that 1993 was the first year for larger front calipers.

Are these rims a perfect fit on my 2000 LS400?

From my past cars, I currently have two complete sets of 16" wheels in my
garage, and none of them will clear the calipers on my 2000 LS400.

Thanks.

Anything from 1995 and newer?

I don't know what LiCelsior is talking about, but 1993-94 wheels should fit your 2000, no problem. 1990-92 wheels won't.

This is what I've come up with, referring to the change occurring in 1995 models.

"Bigger and better brakes. The front brakes were changed from a single-sided 2-piston type to an opposed-cylinder 4-piston type."
I'm guessing that the 1993 wheels I planned on buying won't fit my car because of the larger calipers?

no, THEY WONT FIT.

UCF2x LS400 (95-00) had MASSIVE front brake calipers, the wheels from any pre 95 LS400 will NOT fit over them.

and black_LS, the fact that the 93-94 are 16" doesnt make a difference, they are the wrong "disk" type, ie not a "High disk" wheel.

But the 93-94 first gens already had the larger brakes, no? I can even recall seeing a 96 with 93 wheels for sale in my area.

no, they didnt have the "BIG" brakes.
they had a slightly larger rotor size iirc but that was it, the 95 was the one that first got the massive 4piston calipers.

4piston calipers shouldn't matter becuase 2 of those pistons are on the other side of the caliper so they shouldn't affect wheel fitment. By that logic, should't the 93-94 wheels fit on a 95+ ?

no, the 2LS 4 pistons are unique in that they are ridiculously wide, wider even than the infamous Supra TT brakes.

if ur taking ur car to EOS this year i might have mine, so we could possibly test fit :-P

It's a possibility. My car may not even survive that long

i'm sure you guys are right but i swear to god that i saw a black 98 ls with 93-94 chrome wheels on. They weren't the similar 95-97 style either. i have a good eye too. i was confused when i saw it. i wish i took a pic.

has anyone ever physically tried?
