1st Gen LS400 Owners - How much did you pay, How many miles, What condition?

That is just beautiful! That's a real time capsule, and I'm a fan of both the brown interior and exterior. The polished wheels really set it off. Nice find!

I agree with the colors. I just don't understand why they built so many white and black cars. The only options are moon roof, floor mats, and leather interior. So that car has no, cd, no heated seats, no driver memory, no power steering wheel extend, no trac, manual head rests, manual seat belt height adjust, no air suspension, and looks to be missing the battery box as well.
I'd get that sticker off the passenger inner fender. It sure looks pristine other wise, super shame to drive that car. Without touching it a person could make some $ over the price that was paid.

I got my '97 FREE from my daughter. It reminded her too much of the ex-boyfriend who bought it for her.
I had to put several thousand dollars in it though to repair front end collision damage which was enough to total the car in the insurance company's eyes.

Just got a 1997 with 140,000 miles. One owner, garage kept, has damage from being parked in the city. Dented fender and quarter, but interior is mint with zero rips. Paid $950 :]
Car is gold on tan, will be spraying this black or white myself.
Small exhaust leak, and a loud serpentine belt, but timing was done at 95k, steal.

What is this battery box you speak of?
Nobody is driving the car now. It is in storage until October.

Picked up a 1994 a couple weeks ago for $2000. Interior is a 7/10, Exterior is a 8/10. Was very well maintained and cared for, especially by the first owner. (I'm the third owner) The people I bought it from took care of the all too common issues such as repairing the ECU, repairing the instrument cluster, and put a brand new power steering pump and alternator in. They also had new front struts put in and a new high pressure power steering line. I believe its had synthetic oil changes most of its life. Minor dings on the outside, but a rust free body. Even the underside has very little rust! I think I got a pretty decent deal!

7/3/17. 1993 with 124k from second owners family (since 97) for $3100. Interior 9/10, exterior 8/10. Runs and drives perfect. Compared to other awful examples in my area, this was definitely worth it to me.

99 LS4 just turned 100k mi - Nashville
may consider selling mine; not sure I want to let it go as is best vehicle I've ever owned - I am 2nd owner - bought in Dec 04 w 37k mi on the odo from a dentist who traded in to get a benz S class (bet he doesn't own that anymore! Lol)
other than reg reg oil change ever 4-5k mi and doing the major 90k timing belt idler tension etc has been pretty bulletproof - even now being 18 yrs old, still a black/tan beauty w GREAT Nak sound hrs seats and self leveling hid's
only thing not working as day it rolled off assembly line is low washer fluid light (sensor stuck) and up:down tilt (gear stuck I think? cause telescope motor works fine) expecting ill need a battery soon but otherwise what can you say ?? They really over engineered and built the early LS unlike any other

Bought my '99 LS400 a couple of days ago with 141k for $2995 ($3500 flat after DMV fees and taxes)
Super clean interior..looks new. Very straight body with some light scratches on the rear bumper and mirrors. Super clean car for as old as it is. I'm the 3rd owner.

Got my '93 for $2000 about a year ago. Was a daily driver for the last 25 years by five or so old couples on the same block. It's had some problems, mostly caused by me. Changed out the fuel pump because it seemed weak, apparently I've permanently screwed something up because now it's running through one every month. Has 229k on it, still running great minus an odd knock coming from the back of the engine (but doesn't seem to be rodknock; if it was, I'd have blown the engine up by now). Has the good old thunk from the strut bushing going bad, which is a relief because I thought it was the transmission going bad. Still handles the tail end of Dash Pt. Road at 45mph just fine, though. Seats are pretty much wrecked unfortunately, although I got some pretty decent replacements off a '94 at a local Pick-n-Pull. If anyone can tell me where the fuel pump resistor on the '93 is, that'd be great, as it's not in the same location as the '92 or '94. Stubbornly refuses to throw a lean mix code until it's popping and knocking down the road at 20mph and won't accelerate.

That's what it looked like when I bought it. A bit dirtier now as I live in Washington and we've been dealing with smoke and a little ash from the forest fires for the last week.

1991, no title, no electrical (poorly/incomplete re-cap), dead PS pump: $400
1994, Good runner, poor cosmetics: $600
I may be buying a salvage title one for more parts. And I picked up a beautiful 95 with no motor or trans for $500 because it was listed as a 94 and I'm just getting into these, and must also be BLIND.
