Bolting on some coilovers and aftermarket wheels is molested? C'mon, all of that is reversible in the matter of an hour or two.
Coming from the guy with "JBrady intake, muffler delete" in his sig too. Come oonnnn
well i'm sort of jk l0lzing... also the intake and muffler delete are totally unnoticeable, and the noticeable stuff that i did do when i was more naive used genuine LS parts and looked very good
but that was a phase, so i can't really blame someone else if they need to go through a similar phase... it helped me appreciate just how good the car is stock
It’s a 1998 with just over 166k miles now. I bought it a year and a half ago with about 155k miles for a very very cheap price. Up until that point pretty much no maintenance had been performed. The owner wanted to get rid of it and knew it needed some attention to stay on the road.
It was actually in RockAuto’s monthly newsletter last month I think? It explains some of the parts/repairs that went into it.
I've had my LS for about a week now. It's a 91 black jade pearl, with factory air ride and even the factory phone. 250k miles and it came with a stack of records. It's essentially an original 1 owner vehicle, but he transfered the title to his nephew who I got it from. Added some 17" wheels and tweeked the factory air ride to ride a bit lower on command. The rear struts have been leaking since before I got it, so I'm currently looking at replacing the whole setup down the road soon. I also just got a box of maintenance goodies dropped off by the big brown van.
The wife and I spent the day finding some ancestors based off of old genealogy reports we found. Put about 200 miles on the car today. I took the camera to document our findings but in reality I just wanted more pictures of my car..
I just got my pops old 91 LS 400 for my 18th 200K Miles on it And it's kinda in bad shape on the interior Besides the look everything is good the car runs great Do you think this is a good car for me or should I just let it go Recently it just been sitting in the yard I got it out the yard and will probably get seat covers and deep clean the interior and exterior and get new front struts ok
any recommendations or opinions accepted

Welcome! I was driving one at your age, too, so I'm biased. The car isn't in the worst shape. I don't see anything like major body damage, rust, etc. Just looks mainly like it's dirty and has clearcoat peel on the upper surfaces.
I do think it is a good car for you. It's not perfect, which will give you an opportunity to learn with it. I'm not saying to put a lot of money into it at your age, but I would deep clean the interior, put seat covers on, and replace the struts. If you still have the original springs, I would keep those - they are significantly better than any aftermarket springs and can be installed on new struts [this can be dangerous, so do your research first].
In the future, you could have the upper surfaces of the car re-cleared (roof, hood, trunk, bumpers). Many shops will probably want to repaint those areas, but it is possible to re-clear it and make it look better:
