Do you realize how good youve got it.
Those that drive their LS alot, dont you ever think about the other drivers around you and how tough they have it. I mean our cars are soo smooth and comfortable that you dont even think twice about. While others drive vehicles that are like tanks going down the road, and are headed to the shop more often than not.
Do any of you once in awhile drive ur parents/siblings/friends cars to see what it feels like to be them? Or vice versa, do they ever want to drive your Lex to see what its like to be you?

I think it depends on exactly what your driving style and preference is. I enjoyed my 99 LS400 very much. Thought is was one of the best cars I've owned over all. However, it didn't quite fit my driving style and preference, and I kind of was the person who always wished the LS felt like this, or that. Can't deny its luxury or over all reliability though, but the LS left a lot to be desired for me in terms of driving.

Between switching from my wifes explorer and even my parents camry's I can tell a huge difference its almost tear inducing on how long I drove a camry (7 years) before getting my dream car 98+ LS.
I am very moderately obsessive compulsive regarding sqeaks, rattles, road noise, fit and finish, dust on the dashboard (lol) that an LS fits me perfectly though If I had the money at some point I'd buy a sportier ride for myself.

I've thought about it,.. and I have to agree it is the preference of the individual.
I've driven sports cars and 5 speeds my whole life. (I'm 29) -- The LS is the first non sports car, and first automatic for me.
I enjoy it, I enjoy the ride, the quietness, smoothness and so on. Though I can already see how I miss a 5 speed (The control I had).. and the overall 'feel' of a sports car in handling. This isn't to say I regret having gotten the LS, not at all. I guess I just wish I had a 5 speed sports on the side to drive when I 'feel' like it. It is looking more and more like I'll be the '2 car' kind of guy. I'll grab a decent used sports car when I get the money in a few years and then we'll see which I end up driving more.
I'm sure it will be the Lexus, because from going to point a to b, often I just want to take the most convenient method,.. and that will obviously be the Lexus. But when the mood strikes it would be nice to hit some curves and so forth.
Example,.. it is so ingrained in me to engine brake from my previous cars.. that I hardly use the brakes,.. and will tap my O/D button coming to a stop light and such. (Not good on the tranny I'm sure using it often.. but its a bad habit of mine to use the engine and light braking to come to a stop).
That said, I would not want a 5 speed in the LS
As for friends cars -- The main thing I notice is the ride quality. How bumpy things feel in all the other cars.. once you drive an LS for any amount of time the ride does spoil you.

+1 sonyman.
if i could have a 98 powertrain and HID's(and all the other advancements) in a pristine 94, life would be perfect.
i'm really wanting a 98 though. they are still out of my price range. hopefully i can find a well cared for hi mileage one in about a year for 5k.
one can hope right?
I think i'll still keep my ol pearl. shes turnin 250k soon.
