Exhaust that sounds like an m5's exhaust in my ls400, is it a possibility?

I looked at the FlowMasters but ultimately went with MagnaFlows. The FlowMasters were too raw for me and the MagnaFlows were toned down a bit. I thought the FlowMasters did sound kind of like a Mustang Cobra - cool if that's what you are looking for though. I posted videos of my set up on You Tube:

http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...i&search_type=

For the record I have no resonators including the little one in the middle with straight pipes to the MagnaFlows. I am using OEM Y-pipes.

The difference between this set up and what I did initially was not much in terms of sound level - only tone. Before I had stock mufflers with no resonators in the middle.

Adding the MagnaFlows really made it deeper - doesn't sound like an M5 or a Mustang - not sure what to compare it to but I like it now.

Picking a muffler is tough - I used this link to assist in choosing:

Hope it helps

Crazy difference from mine Pure - I am still using factory Y-Pipes and 2.250 piping to the MagnaFlows. Can't believe your X-Pipes make that difference - you can hear it bigtime

This has turned into quite an interesting thread!! I am very into exhausts, all my vehicles have, and past vehicles have had aftermarket set ups on them. I have a 1990 Mustang 5.0 bored out to a 306 with 10 series flows dumped, and a 1988 5.0 with 40 series flows... I will agree that the 4.0 in the LS RESEMBLES in few ways to the 5.0 in the stangs. Has that smoothish, yet harsh sound ( contradicting? haha) when exhausts are pretty open.
for example:

Currently I deleted the rear muffs on my LS, but I plan this summer on getting some not-so-agressive flows with some tip flush tips.

our 4.0s can sound really nice, and since I love my cars LOUD, it's hard for me to go with a quiet yet powerful exhaust on my car. The muffler delete is just not enough!!

Insaltes - yours sounds different from even Pure's and mine. It sounds like it is ready to pick a fight - awesome coming from the LS.

Pure, we should create a thread with all the exhaust videos we can find bro. Or maybe add it to the one you created showing different mods, etc.

I am going to make some other videos of mine to see if I can get a better sound reproduction since the ones I have don't do it justice.

Since we have hijacked your thread pretty good now maybe you have some good ideas?

Check out the you tube link showing the 1UZFE compilation. I almost bought the Apexi brand but they were so much more money than the MagaFlows.

I would, but compared to yours it would be embarrassing!! I only removed the rear mufflers, nothing special. Hopefully I'll have a new exhaust set up by summer... kinda low on $$ right now, I got 2 tickets to pay for totalling just about $900. (no comment, I plead the 5th!!)

Back to exhaust sounds. I wonder if anyone here can replicate the sound of an idling Ferrari V-8. That nasty, snarly sound like the 430 Scuderia.

Good stuff --

I like this setup, hard to ignore the turbo whine, but it is the deep tone of the 1UZ that makes this engine have so much potential either way.
