Hello,

I cut off the connector from the original airbag and connected it to the 2 wires from the new airbag. I also took the old cruise control lever and mounted it on the new wheel.
Over all half an hour of work. No airbag light, everything seems to work fine. Did not check the bag yet!

the airbag will not work as it was designed to, the later model airbags are dual stage, meaning they go off sequentially, by wiring the two wires together you changed this into a single stage, which SHOULD still be effective, but may not work as well as the original single-stage or even the later dual stage.

Whatever you did it still looks good hell not to sound like i don't care about safety but i remember when grant and momo wheels were the ish and they did'nt have airbags at all....even now i go to truck shows and guys rip out the factory airbag equipped steering wheels and put aluminum steering wheels with designs and no airbag.

P.S. I know alot of people remembers SHAQ'S escalade and his bently from cribs with the superman steering wheel.

The wheel looks great!! I agree with PD on the function ability of it though? Not to get off subject too far but what it the button located to the right of TRAC on your car?

looks great!

does the wood trim from the wheel match the center console? it looks in the pic as if it's a bit lighter, but it might just be the flash?

Hello,

first of all it is a single stage airbag. So that should not be a problem.

The button next to the trac one is for the headlight washers. That was a standard feature over here.

The wood matches perfect to the rest of the car, it is just the flash!

Uhh...Im pretty sure the SC430 had dual stage airbags. Single stage bags were found in the IS300 and RX300 I believe.

Hello,

The first SC430 only had a single stage airbag. It only had one connector to the bag. The dual airbags have 2 connectors. Check ebay for pics.

Standard in Canada too...

Some Japanese models have yet another button in the middle of all those. (total 5 buttons).

Does it matter what year SC430 this wheel comes from?

Also, does the automatic up/down/in/out features still work with this conversion?

Thanks in advance...looks really great Christain!!
