You should be able to acquire at that price from Toyota or Lexus and without shipping charges.

Can someone confirm the partnumber for filter and gasket for the 98 LS400?
35330-50010 or 3533030070. Also is that okay to go with RockAuto BA or
ATP ATP
or any other recommendations please. I see the OE uses as sealer if so what is the part number for pan sealer incase I am going to get the OE?

Thanks

Part# 35330-30070: Looks to be the correct one for the '98:
https://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.c...533030070.html

35330-50010 would be for the 95-97.

I have no idea if this is generally useful or not. When I do a normal quick drain and fill on my 1998 LS400 transmission (when also changing motoroil) I get less then 2 quarts out from the transmission pan.
Have done that 5+ times. When I did it the last time the car had been sitting idle for ca 3 months and was also elevated in front for a week or so for Timing belt work etc.
Then to my astonishment out came 3.7 quarts from the transmission ! . Have no idea why that much came out.
I am positive that it was not overfilled.

Raising the front end allows more fluid to escape when draining. Also the down time, not driving, lets fluid normally trapped in the torque converter to eventually drain down to the pan

Yes, approaching 4 quarts is normal, if you can wait and have it up at an angle.
