Speedo will be off by 3.5% or so.
I thought you were buying the set of wheels already with the tires?

You guys with the 1st gen LS400s should be happy that you can fit almost any wheel you want on it. Here I am with a 1996 LS400 and I can't put on a set of 17" GS430 wheels because it won't clear my brakes. Grrr...

Huh? Doesn't 96 LS come with 16's?

2LS have WIDE brakes, its not a diameter issue but rather one of the wheel being the correct "disk"

Thermactor, have you actually test fitted the 3GS 17s? iirc the GS430 has larger brakes than the GS350 so the wheels SHOULD fit.

I'm talking about the 2001-200 whatever 2nd gen GS430. Those still have the 2 piston front brakes so I can't fit their seventeens on:

Even though this is a SCREAMING DEAL it looks like it won't work for me. Sigh.

Interesting. But will 95-97 LS400 16's fit 01 GS430? Because I was considering them.

Now that you mentioned it, I remember that the original 17's that came with my GS430 were wider than the 17's from 06 GS300 that I installed. But they still fit without a problem.

These look exactly like the 17's that my GS430 came with... I sold them to one of CL members, because I hate chrome, and bought a set of 06 GS300 rims from sewell lexus.

They should, because the LS has bigger brakes all around than the GS. Unless the GS has some protruding suspension members that doesn't allow it, but didn't the GS300 come with 16s? I don't think there was a difference in brake size between 2nd gen GS3 and GS4 brakes. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

the 1-2GS doesnt have brake clearance issues.
the 3GS (06+, which is the year i thought you were talking about) has brake clearance issues mainly with the V8 models, tho iirc the V6 model just got the big brakes as well.

I am. The tires are basically new so i'm good to go.

I was contemplating getting a different tire with a taller sidewall because of how the shorter sidewall looks a little weird on the LS in the picture. I'll just wait and see, but it's always an option to sell off the tires that come with the rims and get new ones. We'll see on monday when I pick them up.

Well, once you pick them up, take them to a balancing shop that has a Hunter 9700 machine, and test them to be round. Like I said, these rims bent EASILY, I've already bent three of them.

Discount Tire shows a 225/50-17 as the standard size tire.

So, I assume the 235/45-17 is a popular option?

Actually 235/45/17 was standard size for my GS430, maybe GS300/350 is slightly different.

More pics. Mostly the LS, only one of the GS. I'll take more pics of GS once I wash it, lol.

This was getting embarrassed, so I took it to an automatic car wash and then took this last pic.
