it may be a blown fuse or most likely its a blown relay try taking out one of the relays in the box under the driver side head light while the ac is running and see if the ac compressor and radiator fans turn on.

Could the Problem Be?????
Could the problem be the freon(Dont know if I spelled freon right). I was driving today in 90 degree weather and was thinking I may need to have my AC in my 2001 LS430 checked so, seeing your post just made me say I need to check on that. I say ask the dealer or a professional or maybe someone whose dealt with your issue who's a fellow member hopefully can help.
I tend to ask a pro, not to say asking your club members cant help at times but, a Lexus tech surely can tell you the problem or a qualified certified mechanic. Hope its not a costly issue for you bro!

My 91 is doing the same thing...except my fans are engaging...I was told by a mechanic that sometimes the compressor will not turn on if the freon is low...I haven't tried it yet...somone slashed my tires and i have a speeding ticket to pay still so money is really really tight right now.

When my 1990 LS400 Ac went out the compressor would not engage also. It will not when the freon is low. I took mine to several shops and they could not find the leak. I eventually found it. It was the evaporator core that is in/under the dash next to the heat/ac fan. I ended up switching my r12 freon to 134a and in hindsight I wish I would of not switched the freon type. r12 is much colder. Yes this fix will cost you some money but it is fixable. My suggestion is to take it to a mechanic you trust that works on AC. Have them recharge with r12 with a dye so that maybe you can see where the leak is which might be an easy fix first.
