18s or what?
I don't know if i should go 235/40/18 or 245/40/18. It's important to me to keep as much smooth ride as possible on my '92 ls 4. Of course i want to put these nice enkei wheels with pirelli p zeros rapped around them. I just don't want to give up the smooth ridin', especially i'll be putting my car on the road a lot this summer. Any request?

no.
just.
no.
its a Lexus LS400, you dont want to put tuner style Enkeis on this, go get some wheels that fit the car properly please...
and the correct size would be 235/40-18 for your year, but if you arent lowering it much you could get away with 245/40 since its a more common size.

Thad,,ride quality is gonna be afected by the amount of drop you are going to do on the car. I currently run 235/40/18's on my 92 with a 1" drop in H&R springs. The ride is still very comfortable and close to stock, and I still have plenty of rubber to soak up the hideous roads here in Baltimore City. With any drop, you will have to alter your driving style a little to be more cautious of potholes, bumps, dips etc. Not too bad with my current setup and the ride is still very smooth and comfortable.

[QUOTE=trukn1;3610204]You will be just fine then, just remember to consider the offset of your wheels. You will, however have a huge amount of wheel gap, so you may be able to bump the profile of the tire up to maybe a 50 and have a smoother ride. I run 235/40/18 at a +40 offset and I still have some room to push the tires out closer to the fenders. I am dropped 1" on H&R springs. I still have some wheel gap but nothing like what I would have if not droped. I want to go lower, but the roads where I live just will not allow for it. It is not necessary to drop the car at all. Most of us do so for asthetics (looks) to eliminate the gap. Performance, seems to handle and corner a little better when lowered. Here is my car, now, with the setup you are asking about. Remember that I am lowered 1" tho.,,,

Nice ride! Would i be able to go 245/50/18? If i do go with that wheel size would i still have a big wheel gap or well it be smaller than the stock wheel gap with the stock wheels and tires?
