Exclamation Problem with the fuel gauge? '96

Hi,

This is what has been happening to my 2LS. Last week when I filled up I noticed that the needle does not go past F. That is always the case with any car when you fill up right? Anyway the needle is just at F. When I pulled away I noticed that the needle has already went below F...slightly, but below nevertheless. This happened again tonight when I filled up. I don't know if something is really wrong that is messing with my gas mileage or it is just the fuel gauge. Any ideas? Thanks.

Most likely its the sender unit in the tank.

Went out in my 98LS, but did so in a more abrupt fashion. At first it wouldnt register past F, then it kept getting worse from there.

Bought a new one for less then 90 bucks and installed it myself (about 20 minutes, just make sure you have less then 1/3 of the tank in). The gauge became even more accurate, and the miles till refill reset problem in most 98's was fixed.
