Default Some LS400 parts needed..

Hello friends,

I bought an Import Lexus LS400 1998 from the US - California.

I live in the U.A.E, and the car came unfortunately without the remote controls with just the spare key.

and it came with missing cd book changer in the dashboard.

How can I get those two parts for now...

I know the dealer who sold the car back there in California can I contact him to issue me a new remotes or is it possible to fix in a new one.

Weird thing is that most of the cars come with missing wodden gear ****, spare tyre tool kit, and whatever they can dis attach from it there in the Port I think...

Thanks for All.

Yes, what is your price ?!

If it's fair I'll pay you through paypal and you can ship it to a U.S. Zip address.

I have a mailbox in the US. for things I get all the time from amazon, ebay etc...

Thanks,,

Congratulations on the car, I think you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of your purchase.

You might want to check e-bay for the CD magazine, wooden shifter, etc. Be careful of the shipping costs to UAE. Some of those sellers tend to overcharge on shipping, even within the U.S.

It might be less expensive if you can take the car to your nearby Lexus dealership and have them make you a new master key. While you're there, you could see if they could get you the CD Magazine, Shift ****,etc. I would look for the best deal, either with the dealer or e-bay with shipping costs.

Hope this helps.

There has to be a Lexus dealer in Dubai. I think I would go there.

Just wondering; why didn't you buy a car there to start with? The shipping must have been a bear!

Just go to a stereo store and tell them what you need, they can get a generic one the fits the changer. I did this for my 93 LS

The remote frequencies might be different between the ones here and the ones sold in UAE. Dealerships arent exactly happy about helping customers with imported cars as i remember correctly. i remember in some instance they refuse to service teh car period.

However, you can buy a used one from ebay an reprogram it to your car.

The discussion seems to be interesting here.

Actually the dealer here is a real (STEALER) first of all and they refuse to service and check imported cars because some how they feel they're being theft some how as imported cars come much cleaner then gulf ones. Maybe the weather don't help much out here as we have high humidity around the high and temprature rise to reach up to 50C' during summer time.

Also our dealers refuse and some time over price old car repairs to cut them down from the market as inventories go low for such models and benefits decrease. I checked out one mechanic who told me that a new OEM remote control would cost me a 300$ which I think is High actually.

The Gear **** is missing too and I spent hours yesterday looking for it but unfortunately I couldn't find it.

I found too the cd magazine for 50$ and I think I am going to get me one.

Thanks for all of you and if you need more info on U.A.E. visit:

Roumeih,

I did a quick search on eBay using the terms "Lexus LS 400 Shift ****" and found 11 results. Most say they ship to the U.S., but you could contact them and ask if they will ship to U.A.E.

Wow, did you say 50 C and high humidity in the summer? That's got to be tough on cars. I'll never complain about our summers again!
