Pissed me off that they put Capt'n Slow in the LS. I would have loved to see someone...good toss the LS around.

The way that LS took off, obviously it is having a problem with A/F ratio like most of us.

Dam that ls400 is slow.

Kind of wish I bought an 2jz aristo instead of my celsior, it is defenetly frustratingly slow and needs more low down torque for the weight its got. Nothing like my old SS commodore with only 165kw.d

God knows why toyota thought a 4litre was big enough. I think a supercharger is madatory with an these barges.

thats because the gearing on celsiors is very tall

yea the auto box ratios definetly let these cars down.

Diff ratio is fine tho. Pretty sure its around the 4:1 mark.

I assume the soarers have the same gearbox?

If it wasnt a luxury car I would still a supra box in it

I believe it, the way our cars handle is pathetic.

But then again, I'm used to smaller sub-compacts that handle like they're on rails.

the way the suspension is setup changes the LS' handling characteristics a LOT....

mind you, its not going to handle like a car thats half the weight....

The LS's of that era were luxo barges fitted for the period handling desires. Couch comes to mind. The BMW 7 is a monster but handles remarkably well across several generations. I don't recall what a 7 drove like in the early 90's though.

Ditto on the couch comparison - the older 7's probably drove somewhat better. The newer 7's drive real sporty but then again so do the LS's with the European option With a little work our LS models can have the best of both worlds.

The LS is also not a sports car.
