Thank you very much. Appreciate the warm welcome.

Loved driving the LS today, was great, felt great, my first V8 car.

One thing I didn't like was, on my SC, for the steering auto tilt feature, there is a defeat button on the steering wheel. If you press it, the steering wheel always stays at a certain position.

On the LS, it always moves out of the way when you take the key out. I know it is supposed to be convinient, but I want it to stay at the same place, not move, and come back, every time you take the key out.

Am I missing the button or the LS doesn't have it?

Well I am open to all suggestions. Megan is out, read too much bad stuff about it. Would you be kind enough to give me some info on your Lsportline suspension? How much it lowers? Pictures?

I am doing the maintenance first, before doing suspension/wheels.

Any pics of Celsiorgirls car?

Second one, would be perfect, but no lip.

I have to have lip Trying to decide between mesh (vsxx) or a full face wheel (walds/ame etc).

1) I opened up the covers, and the top of the timing belt looks like there are some sraight cracks in it, exactly where the underside ribs are. So I think change is in order. Car has 117K miles. What do you think?

These are the parts I need to buy. OEM is best of course, but looking to hear your options where to purchase from. I am in Southern California. Also if you guys know the part prices, would help me out, before I call and order.

1) Timing Belt
2) Water PUmp
3) Thermostat -probably need to change it at time of TB/WB right? dont HAVE to but cheap so may as well..
4) Rear Brake pads (car needs it), do I need to buy the sensor as well? Only if the "Brake" light is lit on the dash.
5) Front power steering cap, underseal.
6) Air Filter-its disgusting
7) Plugs
8) Wires-distributor
9) Oil Filter
10) Hood struts. ebay

I want to do all these together. My local mechanic quoted me $500 for everything above.

Please advice. I can go to a diff mechanic if you guys would recommend.

Appreciate all the help.
main recco is to use mostly OEM parts for the timing parts and plug wires.

Thanks for the pics and help. I was thinking I need 19s. Any pics of the LS with the 18s you have for sale? How much lip do they have?

they're pretty conservative, ~1in" lip all around. (and stepped lip)
i dont think they're what you're looking for.

PUREDRIFTER

I think I am going to pick up some 19 inch wheels soon. So getting the TEin coilover this week.

So question for you, since you seem like an expert:

I just ordered the Tein coilovers, should be installing them thurs. Do you know how many inches I should lower (i have stock chrome wheels), so that my height is same as yours? Idea on inches? or how many finger gaps on stock wheel from fender?

Congrats on the LS ryan!

I had a gold 98 LS400 (sold to member Veritek) that I had monotoned when I had some paint work done to remove the brownish bottom color. Just so you have an idea what it looks like on the color.

(of course my personal gallery is down right now... so I can't post the link I was going to... but the new owner has some pics in this thread when he put on some new wheels after purchase)
