Rear Windows and the Texas Heat

Rear Windows and the Texas Heat
My Daughter bought a 91 LS400 for 5K a few months back. The cheesy Dealership in San Marcos sold it to her with a leaking PS and a speedo that hangs. Can't do nothing about that as she is 24. Well I kept raggin her to get the PS fixed ASAP as it would kill the Alt. Well guess what?. So it's been sitting in my driveway for the last month as I buy parts and she pays me off. Was going to get them installed next week at a REAL shop. So yesterday she comes in yelling "What happened to my Car??". sure 'nuff, go outside and the rear window is COMPLETLY crystalized. Only thing holding it in is the tint. Good 'Ol Texas heat <100 deg> just took it out. Cheapest I could find is $650 installed. Thank god they actually had one in stock in bronze, as the Stealership said they are not made anymore.

Texas is a big place. You should be able to find a used piece somewhere nearby.

This is just one example I found in TX. I don't know my TX geography, but you can find similar prices somewhere near you.

The Update.
The Auto Glass place called back and did not have one. Only thru Lexus @ $1400 and up. All other Glass shops said the same thing. Found a small shop in Town <Austin> and they found a used one, same color and installed for $375. Was not going to get a used one myself because The travel to and from , or shipping , and then you would have to get it installed anyway. I think I lucked out with these boys................Allready done.
