The part # for a 2000 LS400 is 8942230030
Sewell gives a discount for CL members but after shipping it might be cheaper to just go to your local Lexus dealer. Or you can get it even cheaper from Autozone, if you don't want OEM. Here's the one from Sewell; https://secure.sewellparts.com/shopping_cart

So you bought ramps from Walmart, used them, and returned them?
Douchebag move right there.
My dad and I run a small retail business, and we lose a lot of money because of people like you. Wal-mart certainly isn't hurt like we are by it, but the principle is still the same.

But a set of car ramps?? That's something that you're gonna need in the future. So, are you gonna do the same next time you need them?

First of all, let me say that this car before I bought it was taken care of better than any car I know. So I was skeptical to change this. Most post read that if you keep the car serviced with coolant changes when required then most of these sensors do not have a corrosion problem as they age and still send the accurate temporature within the acceptable ranges per the repair manual. Anyway, I changed mine and found that when the car is cold it does not idle over 2k in park but now under 1300 rpm. Not only that but the response is better throughout the range. I am also noticing that my mpg that fell recently to 15mpg is now back in the 20s as it should be. I found my mpg culprit! Thank you all for the information! The job took me about 50 min.
Did the temp gage in the dashboard work properly with ur old ect sensor
I have low mpg and when i asked to change the sensor the mechanic advised not to since the gage is working
Do u think that a worn sensor would seng wrong signals to the engine causing extra fuel consumption yet it fuctions well with the meters?

ya i got lucky. i will be going back to that guy. im trying not to throttle it more. lol need those extra miles. shifts like hot knife thru butter now and yes it was doing that right after the temp sender cahnge and before the o2 sensor change this morning. went about 30 miles then reset the ecu after filling up. wanted to wait to make sure of what i was noticing and to make sure the CEL did not come back. i was only averaging about 13-15 mixed city/highway. so this should bring me upto rated spec of the car. ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Hi
Is the temp sender different than temp sensor
Does it break
Is it responsible for the low mpg
Can it be checked
Can it be replaced
Thx
