i hate to go off topic and bring it up but its been one day with my hids........love then but cant find a good permenant spot for my ballast's....where did other you other 1st gen guys put them??

i mounted one on the pass side to an empty bolt hole that i had since i remove dthe stock air intake pieces for my HKS filter.
the other one i think i stuck betweenthe battery and fuse box cover with 3M body tape.

thanks i did the same on the drivers side but i still have stock air intake so ill figure something out when it stops pouring rain outside.

which type of bulb is the original bulbs and if the bulb has high and low on the same bulb?

Sorta stealing the topic, but I'm about to get an HID kit for my '92.

cheesey said he installed the JDM lights, and thus has the H4 bulbs, I assume? I'd like to get a kit that does high/low beam since I hit unlit roads often. Anyone know if I'll still need to do extra wiring if I get a 9004 HID kit for mine, or would it actually be plug and play?

wow this topic popped up just when i hit the highbeams on my lights and now only one bulb is working, a fuse blew but this isnt the first time.

ive gotta go to my installer to get another fuse put in.

yours should be plug and play if you keep the usdm lights.

pt your own fuse in! its easy... the fusebox is on teh drivers side front fender. just pop the hood and look for a rectangular black box with 2 phillips screws on top. under the cover is a label telling you fuse locations.

mine were just plug and play...sometimes one light wouldnt come on but all i had to do was turn em off and back on and they worked fine...and yes i had the hi/low beam option, i suggest u dont buy a cheap set

I'm planning to purchase an hid kit from ddmtuning.com (a lot of bimmer guys buy from them). It'll be a true bi-xenon. Will i need a relay harness so that when i turn my high beams on it won't blow the fuses? Should i get the relay harness anyways so that i don't melt my factory harness?

What does the word "need" mean? A relay is used to ensure that your add-on "whatever" (an HID kit in this case) gets full power by correcting it directly to the battery or a terminal on the underhood fuse box. A wire from the relay to the existing headlight harness is used to trigger the accessory (HID kit in this case) to turn on.

Even the Hella Supertone horns I had on my previous LS sounded wimpy unless I powered them from the battery with a relay and connected a wire from the relay to the existing horn wire to trigger the horns to sound when I pressed the center pad of the steering wheel.

May sound complicated but it's not.
