Crystal Clear red tail lights
Got bored one night so I stuck my tail lights in the oven to take them apart and see what I could modify inside them. If you take out all the reflectors, its pretty much crystal clear, but it looks pretty ugly to me. So I decided to just remove the reflector plastic from the middle row of lights... just something a little subtle/different.
Crystal clear... looks ok in these pics, but when you bolt up the bulb housings back on it looks like butt.
The reflectors for the outer tail lights are 1 giant piece, so I had to use my band saw to cut it into 3 slits, so that i can get rid of the center one.
The center tail light reflectors are also 1 piece, and to cut the middle out you have to cut it like I did in the pic...
Stock compared to finished modified version. Like I said, nothing very special, just a subtle/minor change...

Haha, its funny you say that because I was just thinking the same thing last night. I have almost all the things I need to make them in my garage, I just need to order the LED's and decide what dimming circuitry i want to use.... That, and getting off my lazy *** to do it OR I might go with all CCFL tubes behind the reflectors. My brother used to make CCFL angel eye and signal light kits for Audi TT's a few years back so I still have a bunch of inverters and tubes... hmmmmm
