Hey guys so i just got the tint redone last friday pics will be up soon. the old aftermarket tint that was applied in New Mexico 17 years ago was long turned purple so i went with a nice 15% all around. just wanted too see what others of you have and your tint laws in your respective states. Im in colorado and mines illegal but not by much.

Pics will be up tomo dont worry, not sure what the limit is for all you guys in cali here i can put lower than 24 on the rear 3 and then the law requires you to have 70 or higher on the front two so in my case i now have to lower my front to windows if i get pulled over ;]

15% sounds crazy..should look nice..i was thinking possible 5% all around, or 5% rear, 20% front on mine

yes they do but with the colorado laws so long as my front 2 windows are down im safe. pics will be up tomorrow had to wash the lady today. as for backing up PD its not bad at all being a neutral gray it almost makes it one way but still block all the light so seeing out from the inside it still fairly easy.

Python it sucked baddd getting the old stuff off the tint came off easy but left all the glue behind. as for the rear window i couldnt even get it off so i had the tint shop take it off. total cost for me for strip cleaning and new tint with total lifetime warranty was 325.00. and yes the rear window defogger still works great!

i would gladly pay 325 but i cant get a shop to touch it because of the rear defogger and how hard it is to get it off and not damage it

well the tint peels off easy the front 4 windows have to be razor bladed to get the glue off along with windex to help the peeling process, the rear window i didnt wana screw up so i let my tint shop do it so i have no idea how the cleaned the rear window

DIY and save $280. I used a water based steamer "Scunci Steamer" to remove my old tint. I picked it up at Walmart for around $39.99. It makes it moderately easy; that with at least 2-3 razor blades and patience and you can get all the old tint off. I used it to remove both rear windows and the rear windshield. There is a slight chance that you may damage the rear defogger during the removal but you really cant use the rear defogger anyways when you re-tint the back (because the heat will cause the tint to bubble).

I attached a picture with a red arrow pointing to the optional head I used while doing this removal.

I just put 5% all around (including the fronts). I had 5 CHP pass me by on 1 day! I know they are gonna get me one of these days.
