99 LS trans. sometimes does not shift into overdrive
Just a short question, my 99 LS in the morning seems to not want to shift into overdrive. It seems to shift fine, and once it is warmed, seems to shift into overdrive just fine. If I shift over into 4 and back to drive it shifts into overdrive. No idea. Am thinking of flushing the fluid, which is a pale shade of pink right now. Any ideas??

Does this happen when you just started the car and drive off?
If so, it's normal. The car doesn't go into overdrive because it'll want to stay in the lower gear so that the engine can rev higher, hence warm up faster. My GS400 does this too so it's no surprise. Once the temperature climbs a bit, it'll shift into gear normally.
You might as well do a drain and refill on your car. it's probably time to do so anyways.

My car does it sometimes too, but it happens when its warmed up. I thought its normal and its just holding the gear in 4th for a little while and eventually goes into 5th. Or I just go from D to 4 and back to D
