NIce, I did a 2500 mile trip with my lowered LS on 19s in the heat of summer, held up great. Looking to make a trip to Daytona Beach with it (1000 miles) in the Spring and making a roundtrip drive to Alaska with it in the Summer.

In this modern day and age, with the proper maintenance, shouldn't be an issue with any car. I drove my brand new Lotus last year cross country 5500 miles with no hiccups.

Planning to drive in the fall next year 3500 miles in my 67 mini. That should be fun.

I racked up 61,000 miles in my SC300 driving from SF to Seattle for 2 years when I dated a girl there. Would leave SF early in the morning and make it to Seattle by dinner time.

As many of people who know, I am pretty **** about my stuff. My 67 1380 mini cooper is more reliable than some of the ghetto non maintained Lexus on this board. It did a 1900 mile trip with its eyes closed last year at West Coast Mini meet.

I will be happy to post my trip pictures when I do it.

why wouldnt the mini make that trip? far less things to go wrong on a car like that...only concern would be wheel bearings.... those little wheels will be spinning something fierce

Long trips is where the LS really shows it's character. I just love this car on the road. I took at 2500 mile round trip this summer to Florida and am looking forward to a 1400 mile round trip to Indiana over the holidays. On the Florida trip I got about 25-26 mpg, which was important given that gas was running at $4.00+ a gallon back then. In comparison, this trip to Indiana will be real cheap.

I think that any car as long as fluids are clean and regular maintenance is completed will be fine on a trip like that. I remember an early car my wife had was an 84 Trans Am. It was ultra reliable due to the fact we took great care of it. The guy we sold it to was a collector and as soon as the garage door opened he said I will buy it (even B4 driving it).
