92 Ls400 - Check Engine and Traction Light (200K)
I am a newb and tried locating a thread that addresses this issue but did not come across any...
Here is my issue. My "check engine" and "traction" lights are on. I have had this issue before, but the lights went off on their own. Now they just both stay on. My other issue i have, which i dont know if it ties together, but the temperature needle sometimes jumps to the top then comes back to normal. Sorry if i am not explaining this correctly, i know little about cars.
What could the issues be and it seems like a common issue for this car.. My mileage just hit 200K today.
Thanks!

check engine and traction could be your o2 sensors. try to disconnect your battery for 5 minutes and then connect it see if it goes away. the temperature issue could mean you need to change your thermostat. when's the last time you changed your coolant?

I will give disconnecting the battery a try..The coolant was recently changed within the last couple of months..Although i didnt do a complete flush and fill. i will give that a try as well..money is short these days so i try putting some of it off..
Thanks!
Thanks!

pull the codes, man...
everything is waste of time, til you find what the code is. tutorial is:
http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/
the trac is probably being disabled b/c the engine code.
