cluster in repair and disconnected
I would like to confirm that it is ok to drive while cluster is gone. Or if any precautions are nec. Besides the obvious that i can be questionable about at times.

Yeah, I just meant that it would stay on after the cluster re-install. If the reset wire dance doesn't work; a piece of electrical tape at the source of the airbag light projection in the top front of the panel will take care of it.

You definitely will want to reset the airbag light.
It is disconcerting to drive without the cluster but in situations where you have it sent off for repair many folks do not have a choice. I was always worried that I would miss an overheat situation.

OH? Sometimes it won't reset? I used to have a BMW 7 series cluster that some lights would not reset, and it was because the batteries were due to be changed in the service indicator section of the cluster. But i just used a piece of tape like rex suggested, I usually do not need a cluster to remind me when to change the oil anyhoo . THANKS FOR THE REPLIES.
