Snow, cold and more snow-glad I stored my LS
Looking at those pictures reminded me of both how much I disliked driving my LS last winter and how much I miss it now.It is now-33(centigrade,I forget what that is Fahrenheit) with the windchill up here in Montreal Quebec-an absolutley harsh environment for any car.
The fuel economy alone with my little trustworthy 91 Mazda 323 made it a good choice to store my LS for the winter.By doing so, I am preserving my car while saving big time on gas, as the LS becomes a kind of a gas hog with big tread winter tires, ploughing through snow and freezing temperatures.
Happy winter driving to you all.Maybe California will eventually get hit with a freak snowstorm-get my drift...

That said..my car's fuel economy hasn't suffered at all. Of course the mid west doesn't get the temps you do, but I haven't seen any lowering.
As far as preserving my car, I buy my stuff to drive it. Heck I had my Lotus out a few weeks ago in the bad weather. At the end of the day, my life, health, family is more important than any car, and I am one of the most **** car owners around.
I use them, clean them, take care of them, and they repay me very well.

Melting snow? That doesn't happen around here till mid April. I'm probably just as **** as you are in the upkeep of my cars. Snow begins falling here as early as late October and lasts well into April.Add to that the heavy salting of the streets, parking chaos(I don't have a driveway nor a garage) and severe temp fluctuations-today is -25, tomorrow 2 above 0(about 34 deg)...my LS is being preserved storage.
After our next blizzard(we get them every 2 weeks on average) I'll post pictures of the white hinterland.Stay tuned...

NY and Boston are great cities, and yes our weather is very similar. Hope you get a chance to take in an occasional hockey game.
