Hello once again. New 93 ls400 owner
I dont know what was wrong with my first postbut here we go again.
I'm not new to toyotas but this is my first lexus. After months of searching locally for a clean and relatively low priced LS400, I realized that the two do not go together. High mileaged (280K+) with ragged interior are still fetching $4000+ around here in Richmond VA. Anything with less than 150K go for $6000+.
So, needless to say I jumped on this 1993 ls400 with 79K on the clock.
I chose buy it now for $4495. I drove up to Philly PA on 3/7/09 to pick it up and had a great time driving it back to VA.
I love the hell out of this car. She does need a new steering rack and she misses at 1/4 throttle. I think moisture may be the problem since the seller steam cleaned the motor. I also experienced the famous speedo and tach problem the day after I got her home!!!
Plans are to install some 19x8.5 and 9.5 wheels (deep lips are a must!!!). Then the megans or Ksport are going on. A double din head unit (with navigation) will be installed also.
I would like a nice exhaust that only rumbles at WOT and quite while cruising.

Looks pretty good man! I've got a 93 too, so if you have any questions about it let me know. I'm learning a ton about mine fixing all it's little issues, so my knowledge of the car grows by the day.

Congrads on the new pickup. For some reason I think I know this car from Philly, but cannot think from where since I have not seen the owner in awhile. Anyways congrads n the purchase. Since you are in Richmond, drop down to the NELOC forum and have a look around and introduce yourself as well.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I love this car. First thing I will do is change out the plugs and wires this weekend. The hesitation is getting worse. Now we have more daylight so I should be able to get it done friday after work.
No, the timing belt hasn't been done. I have already asked my mechanic of the past 20 years (best ever) and he quoted me $700 for the usual belt+crank seal, ect, ect.... That will be done by june. I have decided to buy my wheels by next week. She needs them bad.
I can now put my 97 camry out to pasture. She provided my family with 280K miles of drama free service. Only things ever replaced was the exhaust, motor mount, lower ball joints and the stupid plastic door handles. One of the best cars ever.

I'm walking around here bragging about my 1/4 million mile car when you put over 1/2 a million on yours. I guess you are like me when it comes to cars, "ride'em till the wheels fall off".

Speaking of "ride em til the wheels fall off", I had an old beater Maxima wagon that did just that. Was flying down the highway, when one of my wheels literally just broke away from my car and went down the road in front of me. Took it as a sign and junked it the next day.
