Oil burning what could be the cause?

JUS CAME back from my mechanic and he says dont worry about it tooo much, he says under the car is definitely dry in ALL areas so its burning. and the valve seals are going bad.
he says its a VERY expensive job and he himself suggests just checking the oil once a week and refilling it if its low.

he also says DO NOT get rid of it because he hardly sees any first gen in such good condition. aside from that problem that I have now the car is tip top....

what kind of oil do you guys use? or even suggest?
I know right now I have is 10W 40
is there any oil that can be better or thicker and burns slower?

hehe told u its gonna b expensive. i know my valve cover gaskets are bad and if i use thin oil it'll leak, now i switched to 5w30.

so how does that 5w30 oil do for you??
does it still leak? if so, how big of a difference is it? btw what oil were you using beforE?

0w-20 lol...it was mobil1s fuel economy oil...well i havent checked my valve covers now since their still stained from the old oil. but im sure its better.

ill try the 5w30 and see if that makes a noticeable difference
