Hi,
by the way, backseat passenger who are not fastend tend to hurt the front seat passengers at an accident.
I dont want to be hit by an 80kg guy multplied by x,xx g force.
That could actualy hurt more than the accident itself!
Fastening the seat belt is the easiest way not to get hurt by an accident. I would rather have a seat belt than an airbag!

Goodness,,NY requires a vehicle inspection every year; remind me never to move there. Agree with the others above tho, you really do need to install seatbelts back there. Even if you have to pull them off of a junker LS430 since they will accomodate the new seats.

Well let me get a couple of things straight here.
I got rid of the rear seat belts not because they wouldnt work. I could make them work, with a little more hassle, but I didnt feel the need to. I barely ever have anyone in the back, and whenever I do, they never use the seatbelts. I dont think NYC law requires rear passengers to be fastened anyways. Otherwise cab/limo drivers would all require thier passengers to fasten up.

Guys guys - let the man run no seat belts in the rear if he chooses.
Yeah, it's probably not the safest thing to do, but if he wants to do it, then let him do it. He'll have to pay the consequences if others are harmed in the back seat during an accident or anything of that nature.
No need to get so wound up about it.
OCH-I'm on a mission to find some interior for my car!!

I could always install the seatbelts back in place, if i wanted to, but it would add a little more hassle, and I really dont want to. This LS is not my main car, its more of a beater, and 90% of the time I'm driving it by myself. And on such rare occasion when I have someone in the back, they never fasten up anyways, so why bother with these belts. Maybe I'll install them back in place after I finish everything else if I have time, but for now it is what it is. If I ever decide to replace rear shocks, which would require removal of these seats, I might install the belts.
Right now I just cant wait until saturday to continue my work.

Just something for you to consider is why so many people are jumping on ya because we are ALL such safety minded people. Anyways, very good work, hurry up and finish it up so you can do the VERY DETAILED writeup with everything including the wiring.

Need a quick favor from someone. I got the heater to work, so thats really great, but now I'm struggling to get the buckle light to light up. My drivers side buckle light works (on the old seat) whenever I open the drivers door, and turns itself off after about 30 seconds. The passenger buckle light doesnt work yet (on the new seat). To save me headache, can someone confirm if the buckle light is supposed to work when the drivers door opens or the passenger? Or either one?
