With fairly easy throttle at 120kph I've gotten 27mpg in the Celsior, seems the best I can get.

I drove from New York to Phoenix a couple of years ago in my LS and averaged about 31-32 MPG. Granted, I didn't hit the 31 mark until I got to Arizona, when practically the entire trip from that point forward was driving down a mountain. But on pretty level ground until that point, I was getting about 29 MPG. I was pretty impressed.

When I had only had the LS for a few weeks and drove it on a 30-ish mile round trip, mostly 40-60mph with the cruise on (to see how good I could get the MPG) I ended up at 26.2mpg on the computer.

In the city, my numbers are pretty much the same as everyone else's, 16-17.

Bottom line: it's a big, heavy V8 car but it has tall gearing and a low drag coefficient, so it can get good mileage on the highway.

I often get 30 on the HWY in my 94, but I keep the speed around 70. I get better mileage not using the CC.

I drive to Dallas once a month, 300 miles one way, which gives me the chance to monitor and experiment. One time, I drove about 65, and stayed about fifty feet behind semi trucks all the way, 33.5 MPG

Ive tried to find a better way to increase mileage I put in all synthetic fluids in the motor
trans ps and rear end and even changed to K&N airfilter run 35 pounds in the tires and went 150 miles on cruise and only got 23 mpg 91 LS400 with 220,000 miles. So I guess just plain oil and airfilter gets you about the same mileage.

i'm kind of surprised at the mileage. I guess the newer LS's get better mileage. I use the computer in the car and then i backed it up by doing raw calculations and they were within .2 of a mile.

In town i average about 22mpg and on the highway i have been averaging 29-31 mpg. I got 33mpg on a long trip from Greensboro NC to Tupelo MS.
