I already had my sub out of my trunk because of the system I had when I had this happen to me in my 1LS

But this is the easiest route to take.

Much faster than waiting days or weeks for a new key to be made, not too mention a little CHEAPER too

Here's how you remove the sub:

as everyone before has said, locking your keys in the trunk is bad news, and going through the sub is virtually the only way to do it.

While at the paintball field 6 years ago I locked the key in my trunk, after several hours of getting into the cabin (don't bother trying to use a coathanger, damn auto re-locking door switches), removing the backseat after realizing it auto-disabled the trunk switch and swearing loudly at my car as the alarm was going off due to aforementioned coat hangering I gave up and had somebody give me a ride home to get the valet key. Wish I had thought about the sub back then.

Also, I have heard about disconnecting the battery to bypass the auto-trunk button disable. This would probably be the easiest method if it works, haven't tried it.

It would be nice if the OP would come back and give an update.

my local dealer charges me...60 for another key. Did that couple of weeks of owning the car. The previous owner already removed the stock sub so i had access to the trunk...also, there was a big aftermarket sub in the back and it took me about an hour to fish the keys out with my ice scraper lol. My trunk switch doesnt..work. Anyone knows why? Is there a fuse for it?

It really took you THIS long to get your keys out of the trunk???

Are you guys 100% positive the trunk/gas switches aren't locked??

+1 for Jchrome response. Sounds like the lock button is pushed in, no allowing the latch to work. Take your key and unlock the button to see if that is the problem first before looking for fuses to solve the problem. I think there is a fuse somewhere, but I will have to look for it.

Default Keys in trunk

Not a good thing on the early LS4's The fuel tank is behind the back seat. The only way is from a prior post is through the Sub woofer opening. Depending on the nature of the emergency...I dont understand why the pop-lock guy did not pop the trunk lock? Seems this would be easier.....
