Removing Shifter Clear Cover Plate
Does anyone know if the clear plastic cover plate at the base of the shifter that covers the P,R,N,D,1,2 display is removeable? Has anyone ever removed it?

Hope we're talking about the same thing... I had the wood panel removed around the shifter just yesterday. I soldered in a new climate LCD. When I had it off, I didn't see any screws that would allow me to remove the clear plastic over the selection indicator. The whole thing looked like one integral piece that was about 3/4 of an inch thick. Here's a PIC, with the plastic cover that covers the drive slection indicator all the way to the left of the picture. Picture is from the Lexls.com web site... In the picture, there are screws sitting on the plastic cover plate I want to remove.

Where are the plastic clips located? Is one of them visible in the picture I attached in the bottom left of the picture? I think it's red and is vertical up the side of the full shifter plate (for lack of a better word)... It looks like it would need to be pryed away from the plate towards the drivers side in the picture... It fits over a short round plastic pin on the shifter plate. I saw two of these clips on the drivers side but I didn't notice them on the passenger side when I had the wood cover off...
