Default Steering wheel swap on 98 LS400

Hello ,Im wanting to swap out my leather wrapped steering wheel ,for a wood one .Is this a very difficult task ?I dont want to hurt my baby !!How do I get access to the inside of the wheel ?Does the front piece just pull off ?And also the cruise control / computer buttons ,do I need to do anything with those items ? THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!!!!!
Thanks

make sure the battery is disconnected for a decent amount of time before you start, be VERY VERY careful around the airbag connectors (all are yellow) and make sure you have a 98-00 LS wheel.

No, it's not difficult. As PD said, disco neg battery cable for 10 mins before starting!!

If it's like my 95, there are two Torx screws holding the airbag on, remove them and pull the airbag back and disco the yellow connector. I had to remove the steering wheel to replace a bad clockspring because my horn didn't work.

Do you have a streering wheel puller? You'll need one. You may be able to borrow one from Autozone or buy one at Harbor Freight.

Thanks alot for the info .Lexus wants $110.00 to do it .Plus they made it sound like brain surgery ,talking about calibrating the air bag and junk like that .One last question ,does the big plastic part on the front of the wheel just pull off ,to expose all the inards .Thanks alot
