How do I remove the big plastic part in the center of the steering wheel ,so I can get to the air bag ?I guess you would call it the horn button .How about the cruise control ,and computer buttons on the side of the wheel ,do I need to do anything with those ?Thanks alot

Even though this post is old, here are some instructions: That pad is part of the airbag unit, and the function buttons are connected to it (they don't need to be removed separately). Pop out the two smallish covers on sides of steering column (the right one has the cruise stalk through it), remove the torx screw from each side (a socket wrench probably needed - they are in tight, and notice their angle to assure a good "bite"), and after disconnecting two connectors (the airbag connector is yellow, as are all supplemental restraint system connectors-note that the AB connector is complex, and has a slide lock to it), off it will come. NOTE!!: remove negative battery terminal at least 90 seconds before disconnecting airbag connectors or you'll get an error code in the diagnostics. Best to disconnect battery before starting the job. Be careful with the airbag, and lay it down pad side facing up - that's supposed to be safer in unlikely event airbag deployed.
