Were you having the 10 MPG problem BEFORE changing the ECT, or AFTER? Also, if you are having so much problems with it, did you try an OEM ECT yet? If you change it and it works, then knock it.
Others and myself are having good luck with the Autozone sensor.
I stated in my first post that I was getting 10 MPG before AND after changing the ECT sensor. i never blamed low mileage on the ECT sensor. I just stated I even changed it and i was getting same results, in addition to the high rpm problem that i got AFTER I changed the sensor.
and thanks I will see if I can get my mechanic to check the fuel pressure regulator out

that is what i am worried about. spending $150 to change out the ECT (i do not know how to do this myself...not a mechanic...not set up to that kind of thing) and then not having it solve the problem. if you buy an oem ECT and it does work/help, please post back here. i guess i can look at your laundry list to get some ideas about what i can try as well. thanks.
i drive my second gen LS hard all the time and have at the worst 17.5 mpg, at the best 21.5 mpg, half city, half highway driving.....but on long road trips, i get about 23.5 mpg.....this car is great, better than my old Acura Legend 91' V6, that thing ate gas..!!
