Air-con sorted
I thought I would pass on this information concerning Mk1 LS400s
My 1990 ls400 wasnt anything like cold. The refrigerant gas is R12 which is now banned.
I read about getting a R134a retrofit but it seems that there are problems with this conversion, far from ideal. I then spoke to Air conditioning northwest 01925 762328. There is a "drop in" replacement for R12 called RS24, it uses the same lubricant, seals, everything.
Its just a case of pump out the old gas and in with the new. its a lot more expensive than R134a but the guy came to my workplace to do the job and my air-con is ice cold now. £65-00 I'm happy

from wiki:
"The RS-24 is a Russian MIRV-equipped, thermonuclear intercontinental ballistic missile first tested on May 29, 2007"
keep looking....
my searches found rs24 as a replacement to r12 used in europe. (lots of links to uk)
Approved by the EPA years ago but I couldn't find any US links to it.
