the originals looked so much better... you should really get some nice 18s on it if you cant afford 20s. go to tirerack.com and fit on some nice rims... the car looks so phat with rims on it. that sucks though that they didnt work out!

It's not about affording. I can buy just about any set of rims that I want. I got these so dirt cheap that I thought why not just throw them on the car. Oh well. $60 lost for mounting/dismounting. It will be made up when I sell em
I don't want bigger rims because of noisier high performance tires, worse ride quality and much higher unsprung weight. BTW, I weighed the stock 16" chromes and they were 16 pounds

do the size of tires and rims really effect the ride of any car? Ive always heard mixed answers for this question.

The thinner the tire, the stiffer the sidewall, the harsher your ride will be.

Does that mean that a larger diameter such as 17" or 18" above 16" stock will retain a soft ride if a softer higher profile tire is used?

I had understood it to be a combo:

Larger rim = less spring travel

shorter sidewall = less shock absorbtion

And since going with a larger rim means less well room, a shorter sidewall is unadvoidable.

Also a wider tire has more contact with the road surface therefore a rougher ride.

At least this is what happened to me last time I went with larger than stock rims.
