Having a similar with my 96 Ls400. When the tank is full, the gauge shows empty along with the gas light. When the tank gets to half, the needle jumps up to full, then back down to empty periodically until the tank is almost empty which then the needle goes to the half tank mark. I changed the sending unit with a used one from ebay and it still has the same issue.

Anyone solve this?

Have you checked the sender's voltages at the pin # 2 as are shown below? If these are good, your problem may be caused by the cluster unit or the cables to it from the sender.

Been having a similar problem with my 98 LS400. Fuel gauge is stuck on full no matter how many miles I go. I'm nervous to drive it too long without refueling to see if the low fuel light turns on. Any suggestions? I am somewhat of a beginner.
