94 LS400 for $800 should I buy it?
So I have a sc300 with 1jz blah blah. I am looking for more of a family car for when my wife and I have a child. I found a 94 LS400 with 250k on it this morning for sale locally. The guy is asking $800 since the transmission is bad. It also has a dent on the driver door.
Think this is worth it and how much could I get a trans for it for? Are all of the ls400 auto transmissions the same?
Thanks!

That is what I was thinking...I talked to my buddy who has a 90 and said his has well over 200k and runs amazingly. The engine the guy says runs great, interior is nice and just has a dent in driver door. I think I could probably talk him down a little and also with it being about 3 miles from my house wouldn't be too bad.
I can do all the work myself and gazi on here can get me a trans for a good price Wish me luck as I am going to go look tonight after work.

Yea got to the car...said "dent" in door. Yea it looked like a truck slammed into it and someone tried to bump it out. Paint cracked and rusting. Rear door was dented in some also with rusting. Then I go to start it and it is whining like crazy...PS non working and couldn't hardly turn the wheel. It didn't make any clicks or anything when trying to put into gear...it was bad.
If any one wants it...its on Craigslist washingtondc.craigslist.org and look up "ls 400" and $800 max.
