New LS-430 Ultra Luxury
It has been three weeks since I received my LS and I can tell you that it has been amazing. The car, the service etc. As a former BMW owner I am now realizing how a customer should be treated.
I was stoped twice yesterday by passers-by. They loved the looks on my car - Millenium Silver with Black Analine leather.
So far a true pleasure. My wife has already stated she wants to get rid of her Audi and pick up a Lexus.

Hi this is my first post but am thinking of getting a ls430 ultra lux over a new mb E500.The price quoted on a list of $69k is $62.5k which I think is really good.It all depends on trade in of my mb e320 fourmatic however and the cost of the new e . The ls 430 drives really well but the looks are fairly boring against the E500.

Sorry the other thing I was meaning to add was the fact that Iwant white with the ecru leather interior.Unfortunately is the fact that the wood on the ultra lux only then comes in a shiny grey color which looks like a cheap kitchen countertop.I would have liked the regular wood in the ls 430 or better yet the blond birds eye maple shown on the sc 430.Does anyone out there agree with me and the fact that it is silly that on the ultra lux there is no choice re wood color if you choose ecru. thtis is enough to put me off buying.

I traded my 2001 BMW 740il for a 2002 LS430
I am also a proud owner of LS430 with custom package. Lost a lot of money though on my 740il. Dealer don't want to pay reasonable trade in. But Lexus is really the car for me. I missed the handling of the bimmer but nothing else.
The only thing I noticed is that I am having a hard time finding the right wheel to pedal to seat combination. Up to this moment, I still experimenting with different seat positions. Let me know if you guys have the same experienced.

Comparison
There is a big difference in ride quality. The 7 feels like its glued to the road which feels very good on rural asphalt roads and winding roads (like the advertisement). But its very harsh and noisy on typical urban freeways. Its steering (old recirculating ball design) is over assist and feels very light. The LS with 16 in wheels feels a little floaty to I opted for the 17 in wheels. LS is super smooth and quiet. Feels like turbine engine. Ride is very smooth but not floaty. Steering is a bit on the heavy side even at high speed.
