that could be the little black box located in the trunk by the left hinge behind the covering by ur stereo amp, it could also be a few other things including a bad reverse switch, also the infamous trunk wiring issue(also located by the left hinge)

There is only 1 bulb for that light in the center section, aside from the reverse light (which in your pictures is off). You have the red/clear/red lights and the clear goes all the way across the tail light section to the plate. The white light you are seeing is the bulb for the tail light section. You simply need to replace that clear bulb with a red one. Otherwise, the white will continue to shine thru. Open your trunk, peel back the velcro cover on the trunk area(1 for each side), use a phillips screwdriver to take out the 2 small screws which hold the bulb housings in place, replace the bulbs which are closest to the corners of the car with a red bulb. Re-assemble and enjoy.

If you open your trunk and peel open the 2 flaps in the trunk padding area itself, you will see what looks like a white/grey box. This is the access housing for the lightbulb assembly for the center section only. there are only 2 bulbs housed there. The one closest to the center of the car is for the reverse light, the ones closest to the corners of the car are for the center tail light. If you are unsure which one is which, just turn your lights on, the unlit one will be the reverse light bulb. If you look at the taillight bulb itself (1157), you will notice that it is a dual filament bulb( one for night time lighting, other for braking). Reverse light is only a single filament. Unlike the corner tails which require you to take off the entire taillight itself to get to the bulbs. The ones on the trunk allow you easier access by way of the access panel and housing (held on by 2 very small phillips screws). don't drop them, they are a pain to try to look for; LOL!! I just had to change my center brake lights due to a bulb gone bad, so I just went ahead and did both sides.

Borrowed this pic from Lexls.com for illustration. The white/grey box with the 2 phillips screws is where the taillight bulbs are hiding for the center section; and is the only thing you need to loosen/remove to change the bulbs only. The red circles that lexls has shown in the picture is what you would use to remove the entire center section of the tail light itself from the car.

thanks! i am actually wondering because i need to remove all my tail lights and take them to be smoked, they are going to red out the orange part and then put a slight but noticable tint to it, its not going to be sprayed or filmed, this guy who works at BIG-O across the street from where i work had his escalade done and it looks awesome, im having the tint taken off my side marker lights in the front and all my lights will be done in this one shade, also there is no adverse effect on the headlights

ohh i see why, you're running aftermarket Red/Clear/Red taillights on your car.

buy some aftermarket red-tinted bulbs or just live with it, it's suppsoed to be like that.

or buy some OEM tails.
stock tails look like this:

Exactly!! The bulb will give that area a red tint, b/c it is your tail light . It will not, however, be as red as your other tail lights b/c it is a cleared section right where the bulb sits. On the factory tails, pictured above, the area lights up bright red b/c the tail light itself is red with no clear.

Python, this will help you remove your lights so you can do what you're gonna do with them.
