Introduction ('99 LS400)
Hello there,
Just bought my first LS400 (or any Toyota/Lexus product, for that matter) two days ago and wanted to say, "hi!" I bought a one-owner '99 LS400 with 135k miles for $9,950 cash from a small local dealer. The car is very clean with full service records, including the window sticker, and luckily has always been a Florida car (much less potential for rust.)
I've owned a lot of what I consider to be "enthusiast cars" in the past, including an '00 Crown Vic "P71" cop car 4sp auto, '00 Integra GS-R 5sp manual, '04 BMW 330ci 6sp manual, and an '06 S2000 6sp manual.
I'm hoping to get some serious miles out of this car... because I may already be in love and I don't want to have to contemplate "breaking up with her." I did a ton of research on the '98-'00 LS400 before buying this car so it's not by accident or coincidence that I ended up with this ride. From reading the forum postings here, 135k miles means this LS400 is just getting broken in.
The first items on my todo list are fixing the jacked up LCD display on my radio (perhaps by replacing it with a Pioneer FH-P8000BT) and possibly disabling my DRLs (hate 'em!) Today I had my radar detector hardwired, something I've done with nearly every car I've owned.
So, thanks in advance for providing this gathering place and I look forward to posting and reading all of your posts in the future. From what I can tell so far, this forum is a real goldmine for us LS400 owners!
I'm attaching two pictures of the car.
Take care,
Dan

Thank you sir! As is yours. This forum will provide lots of good info on these cars, so read as much as you car. They are really worry free cars anyway.
