I'm thinking about buying this one... it's a 4 owner 1996 ls4 with 216k miles... it is described as being in excellent cosmetic and mechanical conditions. How much should I pay?

But the short answer is you should pay what you feel is a good value for the car and what you can negotiate down to.

$3k sounds too low for one in excellent condition... I haven't seen any LS400's selling that low, and I've been looking for a while... maybe you could find one for $3k with mechanical issues, or corrosion, or ridiculous aftermarket mods
I think I like PureDrifter's quote better

Yeah, it truly depends on the motivation of the seller, and the location of the seller though.
Maybe I was just hoping for one to pop up that clean for 3k. I did see an immaculate 266k mile one for $3000.

I hear ya... it's hard to gauge how much impact the higher mileage really has on the total price of these cars. It seems like Kelley Blue Book doesn't compensate for the added mileage once a vehicle goes past 200k miles; i.e. the KBB estimated price would be the same for 216k miles than for 266k or any higher number of miles.
