If you really want the car, I'd tell him to have the TB/WP etc replaced and after you can test drive it, you'll give him $2300 for it if all is well... If he balks, I'd walk, since it may have other problems that he's not disclosing.

I went and checked it out today its in good shape all the power stuff works power antenna, dash lights up, instrument cluster all lights up. Its due for a good detail but would clean up real nice i think. He seems legit does have quite a bit of service records but obviously you never know. I confirmed the price and he said it was firm (but cash in hand does talk) i just left with i'll let him know as i am undecided on what to do.

The shop that its sitting at has worked on it previously not sure if he went there exclusive or what work they have done i guess i could have them check the records. We met at lunch so we didnt have alot of time to go into all that. The title was good i checked he got the car in 2001 and the oil change sticker has another 2k before it needs to be changed so at least thats been done lol.

I think you can do far better than that 91 LS unless you just want a "project car".
I agree, I bought mine for $400 and the motor was running. It needed a lot of other little misc. work, but the motor itself really didn't need a tear down, but I did it anyways. That being said if he wants to entertain an offer for like $500 or less, that's different. I wouldn't pay over $1000 for something with a non-running engine with next to perfect interior. Also, if you do happen to purchase it, it will cost you atleast $500 just to replace the parts, belt, water pump, idler bearings, tensioner, fan bracket, etc. However if your good with mechanics, you can do it for a lot less. I bought all OEM parts and spent 600 alone on just those parts, including a master gasket kit. Check out my build if you'd like.
