1995 LS4 Trac Control issue???
Try to make story short...due to pendidng court DATE...LOL
'95 LS 4 151,000 MILES drives like a champ...all stock and all maintenace records etc. Paid $6800 2 years ago...
Work done:
Replace front struts: Arnott Industries $1600 ($800 struts and $300 labor and misc repairs swithes, oil etc...$500)
Neutral Safety switch $1100
Dbl Plat Spark plugs $53
Total into car: $9,553
Other potential issues
Cluster gauges have started to stick
But this is the main issue now!!!
The Traction Controll will not turn off. Switch does not seem to work, the light will come on when starting as all of the lights do. I tried to get it inspected but they can not get it to work on the dyno. The back wheels will disengage when it sense the front wheels are not turning and they simply abort the test...they simply can not do the tests. I tried to take to to multiple shops hopeing some guys would let it slide or help turn it off but no dice. It is a 1995 so they have to put it on the dyno.
So question...Does this sound like a switch issue??? Or can I disengage the Traction Control so they can inspect it? But now I am thinking that if it is disengaged it will turn the CEL on and then they won't inspect it until that is gone!...
I have read replacing the tracation control is expensive...and I don't have the resources or time right now to do that...9/24/09 at 8am is coming up fast...by the way...I am NOT savvy on car repair...I do all that I can out of necessity but when it gets complicated I tend to have my mechanic do the repair as I minimal tools and knowledge.
Please let me know your thoughts!!!
