Flushing PS fluid... while the car is not running?
Just wondering how feasible that is. Right now my car is all taken apart (has been for the last couple of month). I've been doing a lot of work to it - replaced power steering pressure hose, cleaned both PS screens, replaced cam seals, and right now finishing up replacing valve cover gaskets.
But in any case, since I did so much work to the PS system, I want to flush PS fluid, and I wonder if its possible before I put everything together. If I was to spin PS pulley with a gun, it should still pump the fluid, right?
The other question is, if I dont turn the steering wheel, is it still going to pump all the fluid or some old fluid will be stuck in the steering rack?

Yes you can turn the pump with your hand or a impact gun... either way will work, one is just faster. That being said.... I wouldn't waste my time fuuuuuckin' with that, I would put everything back together, put your dex/merc in and start it up, go from lock to lock on your rack several times, make sure the pump is submerged in fluid otherwise you will be pumping in air... For your other question, if you don't turn the wheel you are still pumping fluid through the system, but there will be some dirty fluid in the power piston and other various places that are dependent on whatever way you turn it, however if you do it like I said, you will get rid of 99% of the fluid in the system. I wouldn't be too worried about that small fraction of fluid, should be good to go.
