You can check your front tires. I had a similar issue with my 98 Landcruiser when one of the tire treads started splitting from the tire itself. It started as a light vibration at lower speeds and went away at higher speeds. After talking to some of my friends who are mechanics at BMW, and they had no idea, I called the local tire company to see if they had any idea what it could be, and the first guy I got on the phone hit the nail on the head and said i had a bad tire and should get it in there soon.... a day later, when I was supposed to take the cruiser in to get the tires checked out, on of the front tires blew the tread off at low speed in my neighborhood.
SInce then I've gotten new tires, and happy to say there's no more vibration.
