Here's a pic of the original right inner tie rod (left) and the replacement on the right for a 1st Gen. Notice anything? Needless to say, the car remains on jack stands awaiting another replacement that's being overnighted from Sewell Lexus...

Bingo! It's a Beck Arnley: 101-4541 - OEM (supposedly) replacement... The original is a left handed thread, the replacement came through right handed... You can see a small portion of the aluminum nut that fits over that 1 1/4" thread. The steering damper bracket slides over those threads, and the aluminum nut locks it in place. The smaller thread (right handed) screws into the end of the steering rack.

The really fun part of this was I tried for 2+ friggin hours to get that aluminum nut off of the original tie rod by turning it in the wrong direction. The reason being was that when the nut is on the tie rod, you can't see the threads, so my point of reference for knowing which way to turn it to remove it, was by looking at the replacement tie rod's threads! Soaked it in WD40 overnight, stuck it in a vise, heated the heck out of it! What a PITA!

lol. at least you had a good reason. it's very humbling to curse a bolt only to have it break loose effortlessy in the correct direction.
