1st Gen Steering Rack Bushings/Grommet's
Wondering if there is one bolt or two per side on the brackets that hold the steering rack grommets/bushings in place. From this pic, it looks like one and the top tounge of the bracket maybe slides into a holder/slot on the main front cross member? There was a production change to the grommets on April 25, 1991. This pic shows the old and new design of the grommet. I'm about to change them out.
Thanks

Two bolts per side. I swapped them out this morning. Right side was easy, left side required a little more persuasion because that's where the steering linkage attaches. Took a total of about 45 minutes. My 91 had the old design installed, prior to the TSB release.

I think my rack was slipping inside the original bushings. It would feel like the steering wheel was grabbing sometimes when turning to the right. That problem appears to be gone. The originals looked to be in good shape visually, but they were the old design.
Thanks!
Thanks!
