Question Is the LS engine interference-free?

The information I gathered from multiple boards all stated that the V8 engine in the LS is interference-free, thus, no engine damage when the timing belt snap. Does anyone have credible evidence(s)/fact(s) that can prove or disprove the hypothesis?

My Lexus service rep believes that this is the case.

Interesting since my service rep says that it is an interferrence engine after first generation.

My mechanice said after my timing belt change that it is interference free.

Hmmm some conflicting conclusions.

Shop foreman said first gen LS was interference free, the new engine for '95-'00 is not. Interested to see what other dealers say.

I've got a '91 and my service guy said interference free (Pohanka Lexus, Chantilly, VA).

Hi..Hyperopt
I'm new to CL and this is my first time with CL. From 90-94 the engine is interference-free, but in 1995 the LS have a dome type piston to gained 10 more hp and if the Timing belt break or the Water Pump locked up.... you will bent the valves. Lexus recommened to replace the Timing Belt and Water Pump on the V8 95--and up at 90,000 miles, for a peace of mind.

95 and up will brend valves b4 that they will not
