Im not a fan of chrome rims but that's just me. I really dig those GS rims though. Do you have a source for the GS rims other than the dealer? Im just wondering how much one would pay for the GS rims.

When you guys say 430 you didn't say LS or GS. I not a huge fan of chrome either. I don't have a source for rims either. I'll probably search craigslist or something. After I check them out in person on some cars. This is going be a DD but try not to get it in any snow, would I have to worry about the chrome pitting or anything? Would the silver be a smarter rim choice?

Yes, I think stock Silver ls430 wheels give the car a more classy look. If you want Bling buy low cost aftermarket wheels, I mean you got to pay to really play.

(shown here with LSportline kit on)
Are those LS430 wheels a straight swap onto the LS400 (no mods)?

yes, all LS430 wheels with their OEM spec tires will fit all LS400's, the only potential issue is that the LS430 tire spec is slightly oversized for 89-92 model LS400's but if you are stock height it won't be an issue.

What about his ground effects? Much more refined looking IMO.

he had an L-Sportline kit on the car. The same company made my old (and his old i believe) suspension systems (which were basically custom spec bilsteins and eibachs).

Unfortunately L-Sportline was bought and disbanded several years ago

you can get replica kits for the GS and IS series kits that LSportline made, but none for the LS. but there are still a lot laying around here and there.

DaveGS4's old LS, SKPerformance's car, and LexKost (only '95-97 running this kit, heavily modified version) all have the L-Sportline kit.

@7schulz: You can buy (hyper) silver LS430 replica's too on ebay.

Replica's

Or OEM's, but these are expensive:

OEM LS430's

Here's my older LS400 with the LS430 wheels, take a look here:

I also have to say +1 for the 430's in silver. Makes the car look a LOT classier.

Asia, what year LS430 wheels are those? Would those wheels bolt up to a 99' LS400? Spacers needed?

I ask b/c Im going to pick up a 99' LS400 tomorrow. I'll post up some pics when I get it so I can get your guy's help on this type of stuff.

They should fit fine. offset on my '93 remained practicaly the same. Tires where the same in diameter. the old 225 tires on 16" rims were even slightly wider

Edit: forgot to say, the wheels are from a 2005 LS430 I believe. Here is the poor guy:

PD is correct, they bolt right on with no mods. Oh - you might need different lug nuts than what are on your current wheels due to wheel design.

I ran the LS430 wheels with and without the l-sportline suspension and with / without the kit - no worries or rubbing either way. Fit and work just fine.
