Hmm.. my engine takes about 5-10 minutes to warm up, and seems to be starving for something / lagging until it gets to be warmed up.. The engine also seems to sound differently until it gets warmed up if you get on it at all. Once it gets warmed up, it runs perfectly. What does this mean? 1998 LS

my friend who is a certified nissan mechanic has been doing all of my minor maintenance, changing valve cover gaskets, seals, etc. i wonder if he can do a timing belt change on my ls400. im sure he has done them on almost all nissans. is there anything different that needs to be done.

If it is perfect warm? Then you merely have a warm-up system issue. Temp sensors, idle stepper motor, tings like dat.
"Seems to sound different" is as close to saying nothing useful as I have happened across.
